Yeast bread is quite easy to make. Below is the basic (zero'th order) recipe, requiring the
least amount of work and number of ingredients. The finished loaf is around 500 gm.
Note that you do not need to kneed the dough with your hands.
Ingredients:
Ingredient |
Amount |
Flour: Wheat, Dinkle or Rye | 500 ml ≃ 265 gm |
Warm Water | 250 ml = 250 gm |
Yeast | 7 gm fresh yeast |
Salt | Table-Tea Spoon |
Procedure:
1. Mix the ingredients above in a mixing bowl with a wooden spoon, and let sit for two hours. |
2. The dough should have risen. Punch down the dough with the wooden spoon, grease a baking pan with olive oil and place the dough in the pan. |
3. Place a pan of water in the oven, and heat the oven to 220 C. Once at this temperature, place the dough into the oven and bake for 40 minutes. |
Note: The dough should rise in the baking pan for around 20 minutes before placing it in the oven. |
