Problem C11:
Initially, a simple pendulum starts out from rest at an angle of 90 degrees
from the vertical. The bob has a mass of n1 and a massless string of
length L. The bob is released, it swings down and undergoes an elastic collision
with another ball of mass n2 located at the bottom of the swing. After
the elastic collision, the bob swings back and rises to a maximum height h(max)
as shown in the figure. Object n2 travels off to the right. If
h(max)=L/n3, what is n3? Note that n1 and n2
have the same units of mass, and n3 is unitless.
